What is Literacy at Lexington Elementary?
Literacy at Lexington Elementary finds students actively engaged in reading, writing, word study, and vocabulary learning throughout the day within our IB curriculum. Our students are authentic and rigorous readers, writers, and word solvers. Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop, provide opportunities for learning specific skills and strategies to support reading in the transdisciplinary themes of our IB curriculum.

Good readers ask questions before, during, and after reading! Asking questions when reading helps you think about and understand what you are reading. Sticky notes and a pencil are always a great way to keep track of your questions while you read. Here are a few question starters to think about while reading.
